Q.  Who Can Come to BSU?
A.  The BSU is open to anyone who is a student at a Raleigh area college or university. Students at NCSU, Meredith College, Peace College, Wake Tech Community College, Shaw University, and St. Augustines are welcome to join us.
Q.  Do I have to be a Baptist to be a part of BSU?
A.  Of course not! We have people from many different denominations who attend the BSU. We are a Christian organization first, and will never discriminate on the basis of denomination.
Q.  What do you believe?
A.  Though we do not have a set core of beliefs that everyone must agree to in order to be a member, we believe that Jesus Christ was God’s son and that he came to Earth and died on a cross for our sins. It is only through a relationship with him that our relationship with God can be restored.
Q.  Where do you meet?
A.  Our building is located at 2702 Hillsborough Street. If you are walking up through the brickyard, walk up the side walk to the left of the atrium. Our building is across the street at the corner of Hillsborough at Gardner.
Q.  Who can park in the parking area under the building?
A.  From 9:00 to 5:00 everyday, business owners in the area rent parking spaces from us. These are the numbered spaces. However, if you are in the building during the day, you are welcome to park in one of the spaces marked “For Center Business.” There are two on your right as you come into the parking area and two on the hill. If is after 5:00, you can park in any space.
Q.  What is the purpose of BSU?
A.  “The Baptist Student Union has one great hope and purpose: to help and minister to students as they struggle with their growing lives, their faith, or lack of it, and how they will live in an enormous and complex world, answering questions which both challenge and testify.” (As stated in the original program of dedication from December 4, 1964)
Q.  Is BSU a church?
A.  We are not. In fact, we will do everything we can to help you find a local church to be a part of. We are an extension of all the local churches in the area. We are designed to meet the specific needs of college students and help you grow during this very unique time of your life. However, it is important to be involved in a local church in order to experience a more complete view of the body of Christ.

Q.  Who is the Campus Minister? What does that mean to me?
A.  Charity Roberson is our campus minister. The job of a campus minister is to assist the students in leading the organization, serve as a go-between for us and those who support the BSU (area churches, alumni and the Baptist State Convention), and to provide spiritual guidance for the group both as individuals, and as a whole. She is available to talk with if you have questions about God, life, etc. You can contact her directly at bsu4raleigharea@yahoo.com.
Q.  What’s so great about BSU?
A.  We have our own building, open all day to students. Once you become involved, you will receive the code for the door downstairs allowing you access to the building whenever.
We have incredible support for summer missions. We raise money to support students from around the state who will serve and provide many opportunities for you to serve as a summer missionary.
We are small enough to know your name and for you to feel welcome, but large enough to provide a variety of ministry opportunities and opportunities for you to grow spiritually.
